Windows is one of Kolkata’s top film production houses. Founded by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee in 2002, it has been consistent in providing original content to the movie lovers of Bengal. In 2013, Windows produced its first film – Alik Sukh – which was a hit and was screened at the Marche du film section of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Since then, Windows has produced some of the most talked-about films in Bengal like Ramdhanu, Belaseshe, Praktan, Posto, Projapoti Biskut, Manojder Adbhut Bari, Rosogolla, Haami, Konttho, Gotro, Mukherjee Dar Bou, Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti, Baba Baby O, Belashuru, Lokkhi Chhele, Haami 2 and Raktabeej. Recently, Windows co-produced its first Hindi film, Shastry Vs Shastry. It also marked Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s foray into Hindi cinema. Up next is Dabaru, a one-of-its-kind film on chess. Raktabeej, which released during Durga Puja, 2023, is running successfully in theatres and has been lapped up by the masses and the intelligentsia alike. It was the highest rated film of Puja and happens to be the biggest success story of the year. Raktabeej will have its World Television Premiere soon on Star Jalsha. After more than two decades of the theatrical release of Rituparno Ghosh’s Subho Mahurat, the legendary actress Raakhee Gulzar is coming back in Bengali cinema with Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s ‘Aamar Boss’. The film also stars Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Srabanti Chatterjee in lead roles. Aamar Boss is a drama set in the backdrop of a corporate office. Raakhee Gulzar had last faced the camera for late director Gautam Halder’s Nirban that did not have a theatrical release, but made it to several film festivals in 2019.
